Praise for Bangladesh: A Big Announcement!

Recently, Ting Ministries was blessed with a donation from generous friends, whom we met through Christian Alliance for Orphans. Thanks to their gift and support of Ting Ministries, we have a very big announcement to share with you!

We have enough funds to: build the children's home, support the Pastors' families for a year, and buy a motorbike! We are so grateful for your support, and thought you might like to hear Pastor James's thanks as well:

"Praise God! Praise God! Praise God! Hallelujah! God is good all the time, all the time God is so good! Thank you so much for good news! Our God is a living God and Almighty and faithful God. He answered our prayers in His perfect timing! To God be the glory! I really give to thanks to [the donor family] for donating everything to God. This is GREAT and AMAZING! God will bless them abundantly and we will be keeping on praying for them."

January in the Philippines: Support for Feeding Program and a New Auntie

A Note from Pastor Mark about the work our team is continuing this year...

"For the month of January, things are going well and we will be starting lots of changes and expansion to our programs. My wife is reorganizing the orphanage ministry and is asking the orphanage director to allow a new student as a new orphanage Auntie for the children. Also, if one church can really commit support the monthly ministry then we will not be affected in our approach and program for the children. We will also have a long meeting the community leaders for the children's ministry in the remote areas. Please pray for us and that we will be able the start of the feeding program."

If you know a church would like to support the monthly feeding program for the orphanage, so the children can receive healthy and supplemental meals, please contact us at tingministries@comcast.net.

Thank you!

UPDATE: 12/18/17: TM Bulgaria Christmas - Thank You & 13 Outfits Still Needed!

Update: 12/17/17

Bulgaria Christmas Child Update: Clothes for 13 KIDS STILL NEEDED!
Dear Friends of Ting Ministries - Thank you so much for following our Christmas project this year. We are collecting new/gently used articles of clothing to bring to orphans in a rural Bulgarian orphanage. Thank you to those who have donated either new/gently used clothing or money towards a new outfit! Through your generous support we have over outfits for over half of the children! Thank you for helping share the love of Jesus in a tangible way to these children, some of who will never get the chance to be adopted into a family.

If you want to help it is NOT TOO LATE! There are still 13 children who need outfits. We will be purchasing the rest of the items in country, when our director travels to Bulgaria next month. Please consider how you can help! A suggested donation for a complete outfit is 100 dollars, but any amount you are able to contribute is appreciated, getting us one step closer to our goal!

Please pray for these children as they receive their gifts. Pray they would not only know the love of people here, but most importantly that this gift would open their hearts to the love of their Heavenly Father. We hope receiving this gift will not only meet a physical need, but that it will stay with them for years be a part of them coming to know and trust Jesus. Thank you for your part in caring for the orphan!

Please see the HOW YOU CAN HELP Section, below the original post (separated by ***).

Ting Ministries: Upcoming Bulgaria Trip and Christmas Clothing UPDATE:
Our director and administrator will be travelling to Bulgaria in about a month to oversee how our ministry work is progressing. As a part of the trip, they will be visiting several orphanages to see how Ting Ministries can be a part of helping the children, some of whom will never have the opportunity to be adopted. In particular, we are visiting a very poor, rural orphanage which has asked Ting Ministries for help.

You may be aware of our Christmas Gift Drive to help collect new and gently used outfits for the children in this rural orphanage. Our plan is to provide each child with a new outfit (shirt, jeans, coat, hat, gloves, scarf and shoes). We are pleased to have received enough to provide outfits for about 15 children!

**********************************************************************************************************
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We will be purchasing this clothing IN-COUNTRY to lessen the cost of shipping and travel. If you would like to help, there are several ways you can give:

1. Ting Ministries PayPal (on our website, www.tingministries.blogspot.com) Please note: for Bulgarian Rural Orphanage
2. Write a check to Ting Ministries c/o Brian Carpenter and send it to our headquarters: 29 East Poplar Street, Lebanon, PA 1702
The children we are helping have never had nice outfit of their own, which is very stigmatizing and damaging to their self-esteem. Not only will an outfit provide for a practical need, it will help them feel a sense of worth and most importantly, it will show the love of Jesus to these children! This will be something they will remember and that may draw their hearts to come and know Jesus!
Please help us show these kids that they are loved by others around the world and by their Heavenly Father!

In Case You Missed It - Recap of Our Night for Orphans with the Celtic Martins!

In case you missed it...

Ting Ministries Presents

The Celtic Martins & A Voice for Orphans

A big thank-you is extended to The Celtic Martins for coming to share their talents with Ting Ministries and the audience. Keep reading to see a short video of their performance!

Executive Director of Ting Ministries, Brian Carpenter, shared about God's Word and the orphan. Graduated from seminary with his Masters in counseling, Brian has a passion for fulfilling the calling of James 1:27 - the core verse of Ting Ministries. He believes that getting into the Word is the key to a transformed life in Christ and that is what allows us to care for the Least of These.

Hannah and Sasha smile for a selfie! Sasha spoke about issues of identity in adopted children and families and the healing Christ can bring to these questions. She also sang and closed the night with a dramatic prose performance of The Boy from Baby House 10. This is the story of a boy with Cerebral Palsy who was adopted from Russia, by John Lahutsky. Check out and follow her on her blog: www.natalyacarpenter.blogspot.com

Director Stephanie Carpenter with Hannah and Ellianna. Stephanie spoke about Ting Ministries' work in Bangladesh, the Philippines, Ukraine, Bulgaria and more. To learn about current needs and how you can help, please see Our Projects.  One of our top projects right now is to build an orphanage in Bangladesh. There are currently 30 village children who have nowhere to go and the cost to build a place where they can sleep, eat, and go to school is less than 5,000 dollars! Our partners have also asked for help to purchase a motorbike for safe travel, and pastor sponsorships.

Learn how you can help Ting Ministries's Christmas Child Gift Project. We need outfits, warm gloves and shoes! You can sign-up in the spreadsheet here.

Angelina and her friend Molly having fun!

Thank you to our friends in Bangladesh who shared their love for Ting Ministries halfway across the world!

Here's a short clip of the performance by The Celtic Martins. Enjoy!
Thank you again to all who came out in support and to learn more about Ting Ministries and the plight of the orphan. Thank you for everyone who helped in set-up, clean-up and providing desserts!

God Bless!

TM Bulgaria: Christmas Child Gift Program!

Update: The trip was a success! Thank you to those who were following and supporting us in prayer. Look for more updates about our work in Bulgaria in the future.

Sign Up to Participate in TM's Bulgaria Christmas Child Gift Program!
Are you looking for a new way to bless others this Christmas? Do you want to teach your children in a new way what it means to give and help others? Or, are you not sure what to give someone? Consider donating a gift in their honor and help Ting Ministries! This year, we are helping a rural Bulgarian orphanage by providing gifts and needed items for the children. Imagine having to wear someone else's junky, hand-me-down clothing, and never having something to call your own. How humiliating and discouraging this would be - but this is exactly what many orphans have to experience. This Christmas, we want to share encouragement and the love of Christ through donating gifts to these kids and teenagers.
Ting Ministries is collecting the following items: lightly used/new clothing such as jeans, leggings, long-sleeve shirts and sweaters, underwear, socks, coats, and shoes. You can sign up for a child below and purchase the items and send them to Ting Ministries. Or, if you prefer, you can donate towards the cost of a care pack and Ting Ministries will purchase the items (Suggested Donation per child: 100 dollars).
Some of the clothing will be sent to Bulgaria and other items we will deliver personally when the director of Ting Ministries takes a trip this winter. Please contact us at: tingministries@comcast.net with any questions!

Can You Take Them: A Ting House and Indigenous Children

Pastor Mark tells us: "My wife and I are here in an indigenous tribe visiting the orphans and children. We are looking for more partners to sponsor children to schools. Please pray that God will doors of opportunities. These children are mostly illiterate and only 18% are going to formal studies. Most of then are living in mountainous and remote places."

Pastor Mark with the indigenous children
Also, Pastor Mark took another trip to Marawi, where he was met by thirty orphaned children. Those in charge of the relief center asked him: Can you please take them? Pastor Mark's heart was broken. Friends, Pastor Mark would love to take these children back with him to Zamboanga so they could go to school and experience the love of a family. However, before this would be possible - we need a place for them to stay. We need your help to build a children's home, a Ting House, for children like these. Pastor Mark and his family would welcome them, but until we have an additional home in Zamboanga, these children have nowhere to go. Please pray for the Lord to provide the funds needed so we can carry out the mission of James 1:27: To care for the orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

If you would like to give to the cost of a Ting House for the Philippines:

Donate on the PayPal button at the side of our website or write a check to:
Ting Ministries
904 State Drive,
Lebanon, PA 17042
Please specify: Ting House Philippines

100 percent of your donation will go to the Ting House, with nothing taken out for administrative purposes. All our work depends on the help of our generous supporters. Please consider how you can help today! Thank you and God bless.

I Think They Are the Same: A Bangladesh Update and Orphanage Development

"But as we messengers of God, we did it as much as possible what God has given on us for duty and responsibilities to oversee His sheep. No matter it is rainy seasons, cold seasons or hot seasons, we must carry on our duty and responsibilities. I think that doctors and missionaries position are the same. And also we must to think about Jesus’ His life and how much His sacrificed for us!" Pastor James, TM Bangladesh Missionary

Dear friends - we have joyous news! Recently, Brian and Stephanie got the opportunity to speak with Pastor James in Bangladesh. It was a time of great encouragement in the Lord for all. We are excited to bring Pastor James to the US to speak with us in churches in Summer 2018.

Below are some pictures of the TM Bangladesh team on their latest travels to share the Gospel...

In July, we announced an important project with our Bangladesh missionaries and we need your help! We are building an orphanage for thirty children. These children live in remote villages and have no family that takes care of them. Pastor James and his team check on the children and bring a bit of food for them when they are travelling from village to village. This is only a temporary solution, however. They desperately need somewhere safe to stay, eat, and go to school. All of our work is dependent on the our faithful supporters who supply tangible resources our missionaries and partners. They are so blessed and encouraged to know there are people around the world who are praying for them and supporting them as they fulfill God's call to share the Good News.

TM Orphanage in Bangladesh (Read More Here)

The plan is for the orphanage to also be a school, so the children can live there and also get a proper education. Eventually, there will be monthly costs to run the orphanage/school (for teachers, cooks, medical care etc). However, the first thing that needs to be done is to build the structure of the orphanage. This includes building the house with bamboo and wood with a tin roof. It also includes furniture, bedding for the children, and kitchen supplies.

The total cost for all this is only 4,556 US Dollars!

If you would like to help us build an orphanage for these precious children there are several ways you can help:

1. There is a PayPal button on the side of our website. Please specify for Bangladesh orphanage.

2. Mail a check to Ting Ministries at 904 State Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042. In the memo, please write for Bangladesh orphanage.

Guest Post: Caring for the Fatherless...in Bulgaria

Guest Post from our TM Partners in Bulgaria.
Read the original here, on Caring for the Fatherless.

20960830_1940224462915359_1635973261_o

This is Lina.  When this picture was taken, she was 5 and 1/2 years old and weighed only 12 pounds.  She was in an orphanage where abuse and neglect happened every single day.
A new director is now in charge of this orphanage, and she cares deeply for the children.  But poverty in Bulgaria is still affecting the children in this place.  There is NOT enough Bulgarian money to provide adequate care for the almost 100 special needs children who are in this orphanage.
Our ministry just received the exciting news that the Bulgarian court has approved our non-profit NGO status!  This is HUGE because it has given us an open door into this orphanage.  This is THE orphanage I have asked God to give our ministry.  I have prayed for 2 years for THIS place – for THESE children.  The orphanage director wants and needs our help.
We need to raise $17,000 in a very short time.  I will go to this orphanage in October, and I desperately want to be able to provide basic needs for these children.  We need $6,000 to pay the salaries for 5 nannies for one year.  We need $6,000 to provide basic medical care (a doctor and 2 therapists) for these children who all have severe special needs.  We need $3,000 for medical tests for the children (MRI’s and other tests that the government won’t provide).  We need $2,000 to provide nutritional supplements.  The children are underweight and need more food than they are receiving now.
I am also looking for a medical person with a feeding specialist background to go to Bulgaria with me in October or January.  The director is very willing to receive feeding training for herself and the nannies.
Can you help? Can you pray or give?  Every dollar given through our ministry will go through our non-profit in Bulgaria and directly to the nannies and medical personnel.  Every dollar given will directly impact the lives of children who desperately need us.  We need you.
Here is a picture of Lina today.  Isn’t she beautiful?  God’s love heals broken hearts and sets the lonely in families.

This is Why...

Ting Ministries Bulgaria - This is why Pleven is our current focus! I was there! I saw! My heart broke!
Angelina was adopted in June of 2012 weighing 12 pounds at nearly 6 years old. No words needed to describe the after photo - but this is after years of hard work and lots.of love and nutrition and medical care.

And this has not been the worst I have seen nor adopted! This is why we adopt. This is why we live orphan care everyday.

This is why Pleven! Our own Ting Ministries daughter is a Pleven girl. I said I would go back and we are! We don't make the difference - God.does! He is the one leading and guiding.

TM Bulgaria: Announcing Pleven!

Ting Ministries is excited to announce we are expanding our work in Bulgaria to the Pleven orphanage. As some of you may know, the Carpenter's daughter Angelina came home from Pleven at 5 and a half. She weighed only 12 pounds.

Today, she is almost walking! Gone is the little girl who never smiled - she is full of joy, fun, and laughter.

Ting Ministries works in Bulgaria in several ways already (See Where We Work). Today, we are pleased to begin work in Pleven by the continued funding of the Lelya "Auntie" program. Currently, there are about 80 children in Pleven and 15 aunties who come to the orphanage for 4 hours a day. (Disclaimer: TM Bulgaria is not a continuation of, nor affiliated with The Pleven Project. We are an independent organization with our own team).

How it Works:

The aunties each look after one or two children and play with them, talk with them, and provide much needed stimulation often missing from orphanage care (due to lack of time and workers). The difference between the children with aunties and those without is clear. Even just a few hours with an auntie has shown great benefits: the children are more on-target socially and mentally, and the better care results in better overall physical development. The hope is the care of the aunties prepares children's development to thrive in the care of an adoptive family.

The Plan:

TM is establishing Christian contacts in Pleven. As with all our other country programs, these contacts are an essential part of the TM family. They are on-the-ground, seeing the differences and carrying out the programs. They are like-minded in their values and Christian beliefs, dedicated to helping the orphan and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

In the future, TM Bulgaria plans: 1) For every child to have an auntie. 2) To extend work in other regions and orphanages of Bulgaria in the future.

How You Can Help!

You can help the Auntie Program right now. 1,000 dollars is needed for the Auntie program to be funded for the month of August! This is the salary, shared between all the aunties.

To help fund the auntie program for the month of August: 1) Use the PayPal on our website. 2) Send a check to Ting Ministries, 904 State Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042. Please specify for Bulgarian Auntie program

If you would like to become a monthly sponsor, contact us and we will send you a sign-up form with information. The cost to sponsor one auntie is 40 dollars per month.

Thank you friends and supporters! May God bless you for being a Voice for the Voiceless.

Update: Bangladesh Orphanage Construction Funded and Soon Underway!

Update: Mach 16, 2017

Message from the Directors - Ting Ministries Announces: Ting Ministries' Home for Children in Bangladesh!

For our supporters who have been with us since July 2017, you will remember that Ting Ministries is helping to build an children's home in Bangladesh for 30 orphans. In this home, they will receive an education and live in a safe environment, in a family style setting with Christian staff.

Through the generosity of a faithful Ting Ministries supporter, there are now enough funds to build the home. Thank you to the family and those who have also shown their support.
But wait! The job is not done! After its construction, we will need supporters to help supply and supplement the necessary materials to turn the building into a HOME. This will include: beds, furniture, kitchen supplies, staff wages and more. Please keep following the progress of the children's home. Please pray for the workers' hearts to be prepared for this job and for the children, as they wait for the home to be built, for their protection and that the Lord would draw their hearts to Him.

Thank you all and God Bless,
Brian and Stephanie Carpenter, Directors

Original Post

Dear Friends - we have some important and exciting news for you!

Ting Ministries is helping Pastor James and his team build an orphanage in Bangladesh! This is a big project, but it will help many children in the area, whom currently have nowhere to go and eat only once a day. Pastor James' team have been trying to help as they go from village to village, but because the villagers are also so poor, there are not enough resources to also help the orphans. "So," Pastor James writes, "our hearts are burning for them." There are thirty children who have been abused and abandoned under the care of Pastor James' team.

2. Mail a check to Ting Ministries at 29 East Poplar Street, Lebanon, PA 17042. In the memo, please write for Bangladesh orphanage.

Please keep Pastor Sanga, his team, and the children in your prayers! Please share need and spread the word! Thank you and God Bless.

James 2: 15-17 "If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but you do not give them what the body needs, what good is that? So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself."
