************************************************************************************************
We are the Carpenter family.  We have seven (soon to be nine) special daughters adopted from all around the world!  Brian and Stephanie Carpenter are founders/directors of Ting Ministries – a 501(c)3 Christian nonprofit orphan ministry.  We are passionate about caring for “The Least of These” and being a Voice for the Voiceless.

Our Story:

Our daughters all have some type of special need – some mild and some more severe – but they are all our treasured daughters. Their special needs include: deafness, blindness, post traumatic stress disorder, Cerebral Palsy, spastic quadriplegia, Spina bifida, feeding tubes, epilepsy/seizure disorder, cochlear implant, club feet and other orthopedic issues, failure-to-thrive, global developmental delay, institutionalization etc.

Our first adoption was from Russia and Sasha was never supposed to walk and was headed to a mental institution.  She is now 20 years old and a double major at Bucknell University. Sasha is also the Administrative Assistant and Director of Social Media of Ting Ministries and has a heart for the aging out orphans.

Ting Ministries got its name from the Carpenters' daughter Ellianna, whose Taiwanese name is Ya-Ting which means "to listen with your heart."  Avigayil “TinTin” is adopted from the Philippines and her orphanage and region is where Ting Ministries began ministry work in 2009. Today, Ting Ministries works in the USA, Philippines, Ukraine, China and Bulgaria.

Mission Statement:

Ting Ministries is a Christian non-profit 501(c)3 organization helping special-needs and teenage orphans around the world. We are dedicated to carrying out the command of Jesus Christ when He tells us in his Word to visit the orphans and widows. As a Voice for Orphans, our second core verse is Proverbs 31: 8-9. “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly.”

Members of Christian Alliance for Orphans and Christian Leadership Alliance, the purpose of Ting Ministries is three-fold:

  1. Ting Ministries seeks to raise awareness and provide aid to: special needs and teenage orphans, victims of terror, unreached people groups, adoptive families, and animal rescue around the world.
  2. Ting Ministries seeks to provide safe, Christian counseling for adoptive families.
  3. Ting Ministries seeks to work with native missionaries to go and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to raise up generations of Christian leaders.

Our Christian Beliefs:

We believe in the inherency of God's Word that Jesus Christ is the only way to a right relationship with God. Putting your faith and trust in Christ is the only way to God the Father. One of the core verses for Ting Ministries is James 1:27. Orphans and widows are near and dear to God's heart, as demonstrated throughout the Old and New Testament. This verse commands us to "go and care for orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." The best way to keep ourselves from being polluted by the world is staying connected to God's Word and prayer.  The Word of God has transformed our lives personally, which in turn will transform the ministry, as outlined in Romans 12. "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple." (Psalm 19:7). There are no limits to what can be accomplished in the body of believers by the transforming power of God's Word, if we will seek out his Word.

  1. Hello, Brian and Stephanie! I just wanted to stop by your blog to say that I am praying for your precious and beautiful family. I met you at CAFO in Nashville, along with 4 of your sweet daughters as you were getting ready to make the long trip back home. I was so incredibly honored and blessed to speak with you. Your flyer hangs on our refrigerator as a reminder to me to pray for you.

Be blessed today! God knows all of your needs and He will see you through!

    Love and prayers,
    Sue McMahon
