Ting Ministries and Bible Orphan Ministry - Hope After Hosting for 2 Ukrainian Orphans

Update: April 15, 2018
Thank you for those who responded to the need for Artem and Yana! Immediately after we sent out the newsletter, we received well over our goal! Thank you for helping Ting Ministries and Bible Orphan Ministryreach these young lives. We are so blessed at the response and praise God that we will be able to help them get a new start surrounded by mentors. Please pray that Artem and Yana would feel the love of Jesus overwhelmingly through our team and supporters and that they would come to know Jesus. Please pray also for their protection and that Jesus would give them peace instead of any fear or doubt they may feel as we soon begin this transition . James 1:27 and 2 Corinthians 5:17

Question: What happens to host children who are never adopted?
This is a common question in the adoption community and one with real implications for children.

Where Artem and Yana are currently living. BOM told us they get water from a basin in the sink and take outdoor showers in the summer.

Today, Ting Ministries is working to aid two former host children through the help of our in-country partners, Bible Orphan Ministry. Brother and sister, Artem and Yana (names changed for privacy) were hosted several times, sadly aging out before they were adopted. We at Ting Ministries knew these children and were able to stay in touch with them

Yana and Artem with our BOM partners.

Our BOM partners were able to spend a day with them and saw first-hand their terrible living conditions - no firewood for the winter, little available water, no money for food. Unfortunately, for orphans who "age out," this is the norm. Not an exception.

The living conditions inside.

Our friends from BOM spent the day with them supplying practical needs, loving them and sharing the Gospel, demonstrating the love of Jesus in a very real way. Ting Ministries and BOM were heartbroken to hear that Artem and Yana begged to go with our partners, asking: "Can you take us with you now?"

BOM took Yana and Artem for a meal together.
Artem and Yana told us:
"We are so thankful to you all and miss you terribly! May God protect your paths. Thank you!"

BOM helped Artem and Yana go shopping. They never learned how to cook. Artem didn't know how to shave using shaving cream, as it was always too expensive. We are so grateful by our BOM partners who mentored and loved these kids!

These two teenagers are trying to survive on their own, without any support. Artem is studying and Yana wants to go to university, but there are few opportunities for them outside of the orphanage.

We plan to help Artem and Yana move closer to our BOM partners so they me be mentored and taught by our BOM partners and other Ukrainian Christians. We have already raised the money for Artem and Yana's bus tickets. But they each need 200 USD for adequate summer clothing. BOM's van was also damaged on the torn up roads to the village and the cost of repairs amounts to 155 USD.  In order to fulfill this need for Artem and Yana, we need a total of 555 USD.

The roads to Artem and Yana's village.

An outside view of the place where Artem and Yana are staying currently.

We have the ability to change the lives of two orphans for the better. They are not just names and pictures - they have fears and dreams. They are longing to be loved.

What are we living for?

Please pray for Yana and Artem, that through the love of Ting Ministries, BOM and all our supporters, that they would come feel and know the love of Jesus.

Happy Birthday Olyvia: Wishes and Reflection

Happy Birthday Olyvia!

Olyvia just celebrated her birthday at the beginning of this month. She was adopted from Ukraine with her sister Rachele in 2014, when she was 9 and a half. Her only physical special-need from birth is a mild form of spina bifida.

Now, she is 13 years old. A teenager! Below, you can see Olyvia and Becca, her new friend from church! Becca is a week younger than Olyvia.  Please, let that sink in.

Most people when they meet Olyvia remark, "Oh, how cute is she! Is she about four years old?" No. She is a teenager. She should be in middle school, playing sports, having sleepovers, and going to birthday parties for her friends.

The treatment and neglect of children in her Dom Invalid (orphanage for special-needs children) was so horrendous, her body shut down and simply stopped growing. Termed failure-to-thrive Olyvia's body simply stopped growing due to lack of care, touch and nutrition. In Eastern Europe, this is the norm for orphans with disabilities - not the exception.

Olyvia and Rachele's adoption opened Brian and Stephanie's heart to Ukraine. Today, we are parnters with Bible Orphan Ministry and Shelter Friend  - Ukraine. Read about our partners' work here.

At Ting Ministries, we are dedicated to raising awareness about the plight of special-needs orphans around the world. We are blessed to be Olyvia's family and honored to be her Voice and a Voice for the thousands of Voiceless orphans still waiting for their families today.

Happy Birthday to our  Солнышко (Sunshine)! Мы любим тебя!

Update: Home Needed for Orphaned Parents and their Child in Ukraine

Sergey, Oksana and their one-month-old son, Yulian
Update August 9, 2017
Thank you to all who have prayed, shared, and donated to Sergey and Oksana's family. They found housing and have sponsors for several months of housing! How encouraging this must be for this young family. Please continue to keep them in your prayers, that they would come to know Christ because of the love and compassion shown to them through all who cared about their story.

Please read this about this urgent need from our Ukrainian partners at Bible Orphan Ministry. Please keep this young family in your prayers and share their story, so we can find help:

Guest Post from BOM:

Hello everybody! We hope everyone has a wonderful day! We have a problem and we need your help and mercy of the Lord Jesus...
Please, meet young couple Sergey and Oksana. They have on their hands the newborn baby Yulian, who is only one month old. He is so precious and so sweet baby! Sergey just has found a job. No money for food and everything else. They often are hungry, as there is nothing to cook. BOM provided a little help with clothes for baby boy. Thank you so much for your donations! The biggest problem is that they have nowhere to live! Thus sweet young family with their newborn is homeless!!! Our hearts are absolutely broken. Can you imagine how scared they are??? How many worries, thoughts and fears in the heart? Where to go? What to do? Both orphans, without the support of relatives and friends, both are alone. We know the young father and mother for many years. Sergey and Oksana are very young and do not know what to do. They just graduated from the trade school this year. They still have much to do... Our goal is to help them temporarily with housing. This need $135 per month. Please, would anyone be interested in giving a roof over their heads for little Yulian so that he would be with his beloved parents and be safe? Would someone be interested in helping get rid of the stress and worries of this young family, please? How we can leave precious baby Yulian homeless and unsafe? Would you pray for this sweet family, please? They can find peace, love and grace in Jesus Christ. We would be so thankful for sharing the info!

The Shoes Off His Feet

"Some years ago, when [Andriy] came to church, he looked and was dressed awfully. Pastor Misha was so sad [...] He took off his shoes and gave it to Andrei. It was just one and last pair of shoes that our pastor had. Later [...Andrei] said: "I was so ashamed, I felt terrible, but no one helped me, only your pastor took off your shoes and gave it to me."

Reading this, I sat in silence. When Andriy said he felt ashamed, I know I cannot begin to imagine this feeling. Yet, how many other orphans face the same shame? As Bible Orphan Ministry shares, how many orphans die before the age of thirty?

Though there were many other people who could have helped Andriy, but he himself said it was only the pastor who helped. He took the shoes off his feet and gave them to Andriy. This is the truth of following Christ. If it is in our power to help someone - will we? You may say: "Yes, we should help others. But this is an extreme case I won't come across in my life."

What if the Lord is waiting for us to "go and visit the orphans and widows in their distress?" (James 1:27). We have the resources - five dollars, ten dollars. Maybe the Lord is calling us to give of ourselves.

The pastor didn't have to give his own shoes. But when God placed a need in front of him, he responded, truly following Proverbs 3:28. "If you can help your neighbor now, don't say, "Come back tomorrow, and then I'll help you." Has the Lord placed a need in front of us? Have we responded, or tried to ignore it and go on our way?

Thank you to those who helped pay Andriy's funeral costs. He accepted Christ the day before he died! Please read this post from BOM. Our friends shared these words from Andriy's brother Misha: "Dear friends, thank you for your help and prayers. I felt very strongly that you were praying for me for my brother. Thank you friends for your financial help. And thanks for the prayers again! It's very hard to talk for me now. Friends, thank you for everything! Amen."

Update (Need Met!) 350 Dollars for a Funeral: A Need from Our Partners at Bible Orphan Ministry

Update: June 1, 2017
Thank you to those who gave for Andriy's funeral costs. We received word this morning that BOM has enough to pay for all the needs related to his funeral. Please pray for Andriy's brother Misha during this time.Thank you.

****************

Can you help Ting Ministries and Bible Orphan Ministry raise 350 dollars for a funeral? Misha is a Christian, and his brother Andriy, just passed away from tuberculosis, (We are unsure if Andriy accepted Christ before he died). Both brothers are orphans--Andriy doesn't even have shoes or clothes to be buried in. This is such a small amount-- please consider what you can do for Misha in his grief. Imagine how this would strengthen his faith. From our partners at BOM:

"Dear friends, we are so grateful that so many of you have been praying for the young guy Andriy sick withTB. [His brother Misha] called the ambulance 4 times to take Andriy to hospital. All refused. Finally next day poor guy was transferred to hospital. Doctors did all medical tests and X-ray. But today in the morning Andriy has gone... We are going to help Misha with funeral but it cost money. It is need to buy many stuff, coffin, rent a vehicle to transfer his body and many more. Andriy was so poor that even does not have shoes to bury him... Even clothes and shoes need to buy. The funeral will happen tomorrow or the next day."

If you want to donate to Andriy's funeral costs, please go to Bible Orphan Ministry's Donation page.
Or, go to the PayPal button at the side of this page. (You do not need a PayPal account to donate through this button).

Big, Big Announcement...from Bible Orphan Ministry

Ting Ministries is pleased to announce we have officially partnered with Bible Orphan Ministry! Please read the post below, from our friends at Bible Orphan Ministry about this new partnership. We are excited to see what the Lord has planned for our organizations.

Guest Post:

Well. It is officially! Bible Orphan Ministry have started to partnering with a wonderful American charity, Ting Ministries! Yay! Awesome blessing!!!

We have PayPal and funds can be sent via check too! On DONATE page you can find more info.
All donations tax deductible and 100% goes to BOM! Isn`t it amazing???
We are super excited!!!! God is soooo good all the time!!!

I'll start from the beginning. A few weeks ago, we were informed that we can no longer use PayPal. Oh no!!! Again??? As you know exactly one year ago, we had this problem. But thank God everything was decided by God's grace! We are so grateful to the person, who helped BOM with this issue. Our gratitude never will be enough!!!

So, when we were informed this news. I was ok. But the next day, the fear came into my heart. Oh, this sinful and weak flesh... Hundreds of questions were spinning in my head. What to do? Where to find the way? What, if this will not work out for us and many more. I felt so helpless. But I kept repeating in my heart, I should trust my God, it means He is preparing something special... I always remembered one of my favorite Bible verse (Romans 8:28)"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."  I should trust, even it is difficult, even if there is no hope and no way out, I should trust my Saviour. Even it is not easy But I should. The next day, the perfect peace of God and calm filled my heart. I am so thankful Him! I "knew" that our Heavenly Father has prepared something special. But what??? I did not know what to do, where to write... There were some thoughts, but I felt that this is not what God wants for us...

Thus we have for you a great announcement! :) We are so very excited that it seems that my heart will jump out of my chest and I want jump with joy!It happened so fast that I can not believe it! My fear about some of the issues have been completely in vain! That's what I was afraid or worried, God showed me mercy and grace. Through small details I see the hand and will of God in this matter! This has just blown my mind how God works!!! We are thrilled and so excited to work with our new partners and friends, Ting Ministris!

Dear friends, if you have any difficulties with the health, at work, housing, family, friends, neighbors, children, anywhere. Just trust Him! All work together for good!!! Our Heavenly Father is good and loving! He's an amazing alive God!!! We are so blessed and  humble to serve Him!!! Just tears. Tears of joy are streaming down my cheeks from the goodness and mercy of the Lord Jesus. My love to all ♥♥♥

Seed and "Friend in Dnepropetrovsk..." One Year Later

Earlier this afternoon, I saw that a year ago today, I shared a photo of our Seed in Ukraine right after she was rescued. Seed was hit by a train and got her paw stuck in the tracks, so it needed to be amputated.

It is hard to believe she was ever that small! Now, one year later, she is a big, affectionate pup who loves her family!

What a difference...from the cold streets of Ukraine to a warm livingroom in the United States. Please visit "Friend" - helping stray animals in Dnepropetrovsk to learn more about animal rescue in Ukraine and email them at: shelter.friend.ukraine@gmail.com to learn more. You may also like to visit "Friend in Dnepropetrovsk's" website here. Our friend Marina who is part of "Friend in Dnepropetrovsk" helped us get Seed home and is passionate about animal rescue and finding desparately needed families for strays. What a difference one year can make in the lives of orphans, children and animals alike! Happy New Year from Ting Ministries!

Angela Needs a Family!

Angela needs a miracle! She ages out in Feburary 2017, just two months from now. Many of you followed Annie's story of finding her family right before she aged out... Now, I ask you, please help us find Angela a family! She was moved from a war region in Ukraine to another area. When a family saw her in 2012, she was not walking, but she might walk a litte now. She is mentally delayed and has some possible vision issues, but she has a gentle, sweet spirit. Angela deserves a family! Please go to this post to learn a bit more about her and please SHARE her story! She needs a family. We can't save every child, but we can make a difference for one life at a time.
