I am Ellianna!

Hi everyone! Ellianna here! 

My mom let me share this exciting news with you on Ting Ministries - I have started my own blog, here at I am Ellianna! As a short introduction to my blog and Facebook page:

"I was adopted from Taiwan and I'm the face of Ting Ministries, a non-profit organization that helps special-needs and teenage orphans all around the world! Even though I'm profoundly deaf and have Cerebral Palsy, I'm a Voice for the Voiceless. I love to paint and you'll find my Art for Orphans here too. I love my sisters, friends, and walking tacos! Title-This-Painting Contest (Details Below)

Question: What do you get when you mix two adopted sisters with a lot of paint?
Answer: Art for Orphans (by orphans!)
Hannah and Ellianna were busy on a sunny afternoon painting! By the end of the day, it was hard to tell which was more paint-covered: the canvas or the girls?!

There are no words needed - look at the joy on their faces. These two sisters were meant for one another. Many adoptive families are often asked: How do you choose your child? After all, there are so many. Our answer? You just KNOW. This was true for Hannah and Ellianna and it is still true for the two girls waiting in China. Starting tomorrow at noon, Ting Ministries will be holding a Title-This-Painting Contest. We will unveil a picture of the whole canvas and YOU can help choose the title. Submit your title in the comments (here or on Facebook), message us, or send it in an email to tingministries@comcast.net. The contest will run for a week, ending at 9 pm on Sunday, July 9th. Ting Ministries will choose the best title to be painted onto the canvas. Feel free to show us your favorite titles by liking the comments. The person who sends us the winning title will receive a printed frame of the painting, as well as a set of handmade greeting cards and a Team Ting shirt!

Student of the month at Paramount Sports Complex - Gymnastics

Guess who was named STUDENT of the MONTH at Paramount Sports Complex? That's right-- Ellianna Ya-Ting of Ting Ministries!
"Ellianna Ya-Ting Carpenter loves gymnastics and Paramount...Ellianna works hard at everything she does and has a smile and personality that lights up the world...She is deaf and has cerebral palsy...Now you should see her jump, do handstands, vault to a handstand... and do pullovers on the bars. She has the spirit of an Olympic gymnast-- work hard-- never give up-- try again-- realize you are blessed...."

Here's what Ellianna's teachers had to say about her: "Ellianna was chosen to be the student of the month because she really is an inspiration to us all. Her joy is infectous and we love having her at Paramount! Keep up the hard work Ellianna-- you prove that possibilities are limitless!

Kindergarten Taiwan Cerebral Palsy - what do they have in common -

ELLIANNA YA-TING CARPENTER is what they have in common!

Ellianna is now in KINDERGARTEN - TODAY - August 28th 2012

Why is this significant? Why is this more significant than any child beginning their schooling today? Ellianna is a miracle in progress. Ellianna has cerebral palsy. Elliana is adopted from Cathwel Services in Taipei, Taiwan. Ellianna had a diagnosis that was not that hopeful! I write to encourage anyone considering a child with special needs - DON'T let the diagnosis scare you! Look and see what love and nutrition and therapy and hard work and did I say LOVE can do....I write this grieving for the children in Taiwan still waiting! On our Lifeline site www.lifelineadoption.org alone there are 47 precious children waiting for the LOVE that Ellianna feels within her heart!

She was beaming from ear to ear from the time she put on her uniform until the time her big sister came home to see her in her school uniform. We could not get her to take it off. She probably would have slept in it.


Ellianna remembered Sasha wearing the same uniform 5 years ago and to Ellianna wearing that uniform meant she had become somebody! She felt important...she felt worthy...she felt like she was not a child with special issues but one of the chosen...Hmmm...sounds like what we should believe about our selves when we come to know Jesus Christ as our LORD and Savior...we are important...we are worthy...we are chosen...Not because of "what we are or who we are" but because we ARE! The Bible tells us that the LORD created our inmost being....

The children on our Lifeline website www.lifelineadoption.org - the Taiwanese children - the Bulgarian children - all the children - the LORD created them and they are worthy - the children with the special needs - don't look past them - LOOK at what they can become - GOD CAN AND DOES STILL DO MIRACLES!

BE a VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS...do SOMETHING! Ellianna YA-TING would agree...she is worthy! OH MY IS SHE WORTHY! I AM MOVED TO TEARS just looking at her beautiful face, smile and life!
