Stories from Marawi: Nothing Can Separate Us

I am sure we are familiar with Romans 8:38-39. The words may roll easily off our tongue - but what if we were faced with a separation none of us could imagine? A separation that would wrench a mother's heart from her chest? This is her story.

Pastor Mark with our new sister in Christ from Marawi
"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

In the destruction of Marawi, thousands of children were displaced from their homes and hundreds were separated from their families. Pastor Mark shares one woman's story: "I just came to know this Muslim women who became a believer and separated from her 9 children. Please pray as we will be looking for her children tomorrow."

Can you attempt to place yourself in her situation - or do we prefer not to try? Where pain is great, there does the Lord place the chance for even greater joy, if we allow Him to. While the tragedy of her story is clear, how heaven rejoiced the moment she accepted Christ! For truly, nothing can separate us from God's love, no matter whom we may be apart from on earth.

Please pray for our new sister in Christ, for peace and strengthening and for her 9 children to be found. This is just one story of thousands. Funds are still needed for the school fee/Marawi relief project, to help more families. There are several ways to help: you can donate through the PayPal on the side of our website. Or send a check to Ting Ministries, 904 State Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042. (For both options, please designate for Marawi Relief).
