JOY OF THE FATHER - AVIGAYIL

Avigayil - Hebrew spelling for the name Abigail
Means
Joy of the Father

Genesis 1:2 ESV
The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters  What do you think she sees?  What do you think she senses - Pure joy and delight in the arms of her earthly father and in the presence of her Heavenly Father!  She sees what you and I might miss!

Psalm 139:17-18 ESV
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.

He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.

Psalm 139:9-10 ESV

If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.

Psalm 8:8 ESV

The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

Psalm 139:13 (NIV)

 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 16:11 ESV
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 4:7 (ESV)

You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and wine abound

Psalm 126:2 ESV
Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing

Avigayil, Avi for short or even the nickname Tin Tin as she was known by everyone in the Philippines and is still called today....

She is the JOY OF her father and the JOY OF THE FATHER!  She is precious in HIS sight and precious beyond words!  She is our beloved daughter!  I cry and think of our Avi everytime I hear The Story of the starfish and the little boy along the seashore picking up one starfish at a time and throwing them back to safety in the sea - when a man comes along and tells the little boy ..."Look at all these starfish...they are as vast as the sand along the sea - you will never be able to save them all...so why bother (paraphrasing the story as you can tell)"  The wise little boy picks up another and tosses it to safety in the water and turns to the "grumpy man" and says IT MATTERED TO THAT ONE!

Avi matters...she matters to us...she matters to the LORD...she is a precious life created by God in the image of God!  She is a life worthy of joy, laughter, ice cream, love, and all we can give her!

Sasha matters, Ellianna matters, Avi matters, Lina matters, AJ matters....

Everytime I think of Avi I think of another little life in the Philippines named AJ that we long to bring home as quickly as possible but the policy in the Philippines states that there must be 2 years between adoptions, placements, births etc. Each country and adoption process has it's own rules and this I understand and must respect... So this means that AJ has to wait. We can not proceed unless this policy would be waived for a special case...AJ's case!  We pray this might happen before the two year wait between Lina's adoption and when we might start the process for AJ...all you that pray...please pray for the grace of the LORD upon anyone that might be able to make a difference for AJ!  AJ is already 5 and 1/2 and also has cerebral palsy.

In the meantime we will work in ministry to make the lives of the orphans left behind just a bit better!  MORE INFORMATION ON AJ's ALLIES and this work coming soon! Please stay tuned with how you can get involved and help!  More information on the chip in and the raising of funds for Aunties/BaBa's for Filipino orphans coming soon!!!

Anyone attending Calvary Chapels around the world...Calvary Chapel Lebanon is getting involved in the lives of the orphans in the Philippines and I will soon post that website too...so ask how your Calvary Chapel might be able to start adoption ministry/orphan care in your church...check out www.hfgf.org  to see what is happening with this ministry in the Philippines!

Please email me if you would like more information on the work in the Philippines
